Nothing was too much trouble

A large group of us from France (the eldest been over 80 years old) stayed here for 3 nights and we were treated so wel!, Karen, James, Dave and Lee treated us like family and nothing was too much trouble. The inclusive breakfasts had lots of choice and there's a constant supply of tea and coffee to enjoy free of charge. We opted to take our evening meals here too and I would highly recommend them, each night we had a lovely home cooked meal which was delicious, plentiful and very tasty.Karen was very helpful and knowledge about the local area and have us lots of advice about planning trips out and finding transport and everyone was extremely helpful.Accommodation is in bunks in ensuite dorms, each with a tv and kettle and the dining room\ lounge is a comfortable social space. Whi!e the building is old, Lee, the propieter and his team are doing ongoing work to update things but what really made the stay was the warmth of the team. We really ended spending time with them

really liked the quirky décor

Had a great stay here, good atmosphere and friendly staff. I really liked the quirky décor. There was a nice little (well kitted out) kitchen for everyone to use, which was brilliant. Prices were very reasonable, I highly recommend.

The most wonderful welcome and stay

Our family had the most amazing stay at Plymouth Backpackers Hostel. Karen went above and beyond to make us feel so incredibly welcome and taken care of. What an incredible woman! There was also a really interesting crew of regulars staying there who also helped to make our stay interesting and fun. A real highlight of our trip! Room Tip: The top floor was nice and quiet in an area that I imagine can get quite rowdy.

Friendly and affordable

Stayed here for a couple of days using Plymouth as a base to explore the area. Hostelbookers screwed up my booking but the staff accommodated me. Clean and friendly. Good budget accommodation. The location was within walking distance of the centre too.

Good enough

The room had all we needed although moving the beds revealed a lack of detail in the cleaning as the floor beneath them was covered in crap. Location was ideal with everything we needed within walking distance. Apparently a notoriously rough area but we encountered no problems. Friendly staff and people.
